Ravers in Dubai does...Hard Techno - Saturday 7th of September
Hard from the start and ending chilling in the desert for the sunrise, that's in a nutshell how I would describe what would arguably be my best night out so far in Dubai in the last two years.
To give a bit of background, we started the journey in May 2024 to convert Bima, a fellow raving LEGEND from trance to techno. He joined us the first time when Ravers in Dubai went to party at Hive to see Belgian techno queen Amelie Lens at work, and took his chances last Saturday to be submerged in Industrial Hard Techno at Coven (Casa Latina) AND ended up having a blast on hard techno at Wolfsincage at Bar Baar.
Party 1 - Coven - Casa Latina - Ibis SZR - Industrial Hard Techno
Living up to its reputation, Coven started off its second edition HARD FROM THE START at 22h00 at Casa Latina. The communications and promotions on social media did not miss its effect, Coven promised NO WARM UP sessions and just going all-in from start to end - which makes the party an absolute must for Industrial Techno lovers that want to unleash their inner demons !
No surprise the dancefloor was already booming at 22h30!
Ravers in Dubai crew met early to hit the dancefloor hard with Bima and myself departing for party two at Bar Baar at 23h45 and the others staying untill the end. Needless to say that everyone had a blast even though Bima confirmed Industrial Hard Techno was really a bit over the top for him! I have to admit it's an acquired taste !
Party 2 - Wolfsincage - Bar Baar - Occidental Jaddaf - Hard Division
Only 30 minutes later we entered Bar Baar for the Wolfsincage Hard Division event, where fellow Ravers in Dubai Legend DJ Dernaj was behind the decks in the cage spinning some wicked acid tunes ! The dance floor was quiet so we decided to kickstart the party and get people moving. Some of Dernaj's self produced tracks really hit the spot and all of a sudden the crowd was roaring.
The perfect warm up for what was about to come with DJs Kriko and Atabey, the OHs and WOWs on Bima's facial expression were countless. YES - success, CONVERSION from trance to techno complete! Who's up next?
I can't deny that Wolfsincage is really bringing a new concept to live in Dubai with having the DJs spin some of the best hard techno from inside the cage with people dancing around it. On top the visuals were stunning this time round, which made for an all immersive experience. Looking forward to more of these Wolfsincage parties, next ones are scheduled for 21st and 28th of September at Bar Baar - Occidental Jaddaf!
Party 3 - Sacred Circle desert season opening
Post Wolfsincage party, we met up with Aishwarya at the hotel lobby and saying our goodbyes to Bima who had enough adrenaline for one night, we set out to refuel at a petrol station on the Al Ain road waiting for the Arham and Fahad to join us from Coven to head out into the desert !
A long awaited adventure to one of the longest running desert rave events since 2013 in the UAE with Special K at the decks for the sunrise session. After some detours due to roadworks we hit the Sacred Circle dance floor at a bit before sunrise to experience the magical combination of deep trance with tribal influences and floating away on the dance floor with the sun rising in the background! TOTAL and UTTER BLISS!
Honestly have to admit this was by far the best night out in Dubai I have had since discovering desert raves with Dubai Techno House post Covid-19 lockdown. Driving around to multiple venues and experiencing different music styles throughout the night in the Dubai underground rave scene really brought back memories to the golden era of partying in the 90s and early 2000s.
Planning for another epic night on Saturday 21st of September when the next Sacred Circle event is on, Terra Solis opening night seems to be a good 'party 2' option before heading out into the desert sunrise. Just need to fill in the blanks for 'party 1' to start of the evening ... suggestions more than welcome!

Thursday 12th of September - the first EchoDxb Techno event at Upstairs Intercontinental Dubai Marina
Friday 13th of September - head out to for a bite to eat and mingle with Astral Fridays at Secret Garden Conrad hotel before hitting the dance floor for some old school DnB and Jungle presented by Unity and Signal at Oak Live Bar in Courtyard by Marriott in Al Barsha
Saturday 14th of September - you know where to be already - Ravers in Dubai in collaboration with Pump Up Parties presents a unique party concept in an inflatable club at Avani's pool deck Ibn Battuta - TOGETHER enjoying old school 90s and 00s house music with DJs Simon Fee and LFunk
Anything else worth visiting is in the calendar attached - limited calendar this week as we omitted Thursday since we were too busy with preparations for Saturday and of course we all want to see you on the Ravers in Dubai extended family events first and foremost!
